Smoke-free NOW Challenge FAQS

Q: Who is eligible to participate?

A: The Challenge is open to all residents of Nova Scotia aged 19 and older (at the time of registration) who are current smokers.

Q: How do I register?

A: Participants can register on the registration page. Registration closes promptly at noon (12 p.m. AST) on May 8th, 2020. Fill out the registration form here.

Q: Once I register, do I have to wait until May 8th to officially quit?

A: No. Participants are welcome to quit before the official start date. However, they must remain smoke-free throughout the entire duration of the Challenge (May 8- June 5 2020) to be eligible for prizing.

Q: What happens if I slip up?

A: If participants slip up, we encourage them to quit again. Unfortunately, only those who quit and remain smoke-free for the full 4 weeks will be eligible to receive free lobster/gift card.

Q: Do I have to donate or fundraise to participate?

A: No, fundraising is not required to participate in the Smoke-Free Now Challenge. However, we strongly encourage participants to make a donation or collect pledges throughout their journey to quit. The Lung Association of Nova Scotia is always appreciative of any support given.
