Quit Cold Turkey Challenge FAQS

Who is eligible to participate?

The Challenge is open to all residents of Nova Scotia aged 19 and older (at the time of registration) who are current smokers.

How do I register?

Participants can register on the registration page . Registration closes promptly at Noon on November 5th, 2018

What if I have trouble registering?

Participants can contact the Lung Association of Nova Scotia at 902-443-8141 or by e-mail at info@ns.lung.ca for assistance with the registration process.

Once I register, do I have to wait until November 5th  to officially quit?

No. Participants are welcome to quit before the official start date, however they must remain smoke-free throughout the entire duration of the Challenge (November 5, 2018 – December 5, 2018) to be eligible for prizing.

What happens if I slip up?

If participants slip up, we encourage them to quit again. Unfortunately, only those who quit and remain smoke-free for the full 30 days will be eligible to receive a free turkey/turkey prize.

Do I have to donate or fundraise to participate?

No, fundraising is not required to participate in the Quit Cold Turkey Challenge. However, we strongly encourage participants to make a donation or collect pledges throughout their journey to quit. The Lung Association of Nova Scotia is always appreciative of any support given.
