VAPING RISKS - VIDEO CONTEST

Contest period

From Friday, March 1, 2019, at 4:30 p.m. EST to Sunday, April 14, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. EST ("Contest Period")

Official Rules

*Must be 14-19 years of age and a resident of Nova Scotia

Round 1:

Create an audio-visual (video) explaining why youth should learn about the risks associated with vaping.

The video should include some form of dialogue (written or spoken) and a limit of 20 - 30 seconds in length.

Then post the visual content on your social media page and tag us as well as use our hashtag (#SayNOtoVaping) so we can see it.

Voting for the videos to qualify for round two will occur based on the number of likes from March 15 to March 31 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Round 2:

The TOP 5 posts will be posted on LANS social pages for community members and visitors to vote. Votes on all three platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) will be pooled and calculated to determine the total votes for each. The video with the highest number of "likes" will be selected as the winner.

Voting for the winning video will occur based on the number of "likes" on the LANS social media platforms from March 31, 2019 to April 14, 2019 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

The video with the most "likes"  will win a prize, and their video will be used as promotional material for LANS.

How to enter

To enter the Contest, during the Contest Period like/follow our social media pages (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and then register HERE with the social media handle you will use. If you are under 18 years of age

LANS social media follower will decide on the winning video for the contest based on the number of "likes"

To be valid, all entries must be received by Monday, March 25, 2019, at 11:59 p.m. EST.

Limit of one entry per person. If you attempt or are suspected of trying to enter more than once or use more than one social media account or any other methods of participation not authorized by these Rules, it shall be deemed as tampering and will lead to your dismissal from the contest.

Submission of an entry form including your name and contact information signifies that you have read and agree to the Official Contest Rules. No video posts will be accepted after the deadline for any reason. Any entries received after the deadline will be void.

Eligibility

The contest is open to all Nova Scotia residents who are fourteen (14) to nineteen (19) years of age at the Contest opening date. 

Any contestant who has not reached the age of majority in their province (a "minor") parent or guardian consent is necessary to enter the Contest and participate in the prize.

Prize(s)

The contestant who receives the most "likes"will be considered the winner.

Winner will be contacted by telephone or by e-mail the week following the contest close and should claim their prize as instructed by LANS no later than thirty days after the date they are initially contacted. If a winner cannot be reached within thirty days following the first attempt to contact another winner will be selected.

The winner will receive:

  • One time offer of $250 VISA gift card
  • Promotional use of the winning video in LANS campaigns, LANS Social media and possible LANS television media use.
  • Participation in LANS story for promotional use.
