How to enter
The Challenge, presented by The Lung Association of Nova Scotia (LANS), begins at noon (12 p.m. ADT) on Monday, March 15th, 2021 and ends at noon on Sunday, March 21st, 2021. To enter, participants must register on the registration page and provide the indicated information, acknowledging that they have read, understood, and agree to the Challenge Rules. Once registered, participants will agree to quit vaping for the duration of the Challenge (7 days)—this means not having a single puff!
The Challenge is open to residents of Nova Scotia who are 16-24 at the time of entry and who are current vapers that have vaped for the past 30 days.
In the spirit of rewarding success, we will accept 50 registrations and provide gift basket to participants who succeed in remaining vape-free for 7 days. You may choose one gift from each of the bundles we have created. One gift per participant/phone number. Please note that we are unable to ship or mail these gifts to you. Gifts must be picked up at the LANS office (6331 Lady Hammond Road, Halifax NS B3K 2S2). If you do not live in the area and wish to have someone pick the prize up for you, this can be arranged in the exit survey.
- Participants must provide a Nova Scotia address as proof of residency.
- To be eligible to win a prize in the challenge, the participant must be 16-24 at the time of entry.
- Limit one entry per person/cellphone number.
- Entries will be rejected if the registration form is not fully completed and submitted by the dates and times listed above.
- Incomplete entries will be void.
- Employees & Board Members of The Lung Association of Nova Scotia are not permitted to join the Challenge.
Participants must remain vape-free throughout the entire duration of the Challenge (March 15th, 2021 through March 21st ,2021) to be eligible for prizing. Upon completion of the challenge and the exit survey, all participants will receive a text message to confirm whether or not they have been vape-free for 7 days. If participants don’t confirm by 12:00 p.m. ADT on Wednesday, March 24rd, they will not be eligible for the prize. Pickup times will be specified on the exit survey and will take place on Monday, March 29th.
All intellectual property associated with LANS and/or the Challenge, including but not limited to trade-marks, trade names, logos, designs, promotional materials, web pages, source code, drawings, illustrations, logos, slogans and representations, are owned by LANS and/or its affiliates, as the case may be. All rights are reserved. Unauthorized copying or use of any copyrighted material or intellectual property without the express written consent of its owner is strictly prohibited.
By entering the Challenge, each selected participant agrees to the publication, reproduction and/or other use of his/her/their name, address, voice, statements about the Challenge and/or photograph or other likeness without further compensation, in any publicity or advertisement carried out by LANS in any manner whatsoever, including, without limitation, via print, broadcast and/or the Internet. All entries become the property of LANS, which assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, delayed, incomplete or misdirected entries. The Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws. The decisions of the Challenge judges with respect to all aspects of the Challenge are final and binding on all entrants, without right of appeal, including, without limitation, any decisions regarding the eligibility/disqualification of entries. Upon claiming to be a selected participant, a Prize claimant may be required to provide proof that he/she/they is/are the person associated with the selected entry, the nature of such proof to be determined solely in the discretion of LANS.
Collection and use of personal information
By entering the Challenge, each participant expressly consents to LANS, its agents and/or its representatives, storing, sharing and using personally identifiable information submitted with his/her/their entry only for the purpose of administering the Challenge and its associated undertakings. All identifying information will remain strictly confidential.
